The impact you can have

Two years ago, we decided to invest in UX, which tremendously increased the quality of our products. Now that we have a solid basis rooted in our workflow, we’re ready to take it to the next level of UX maturity. This is why this position can be so appealing for someone ready to face big and exciting challenges. As an example, the UX awareness must be strengthened at company level and the usability testing practice must become a key part of the development workflow.

There is also a real diversity of UX problems to be solved as SonarCloud is a SaaS, SonarLint an extension of some heavy clients and SonarQube an on-premise web platform. You will play a key role in the team by identifying creative approaches or solutions, actively promote collaboration, user empathy and teamwork to ensure best team results.

On a daily basis, it means

  • Shape the new features of SonarQube, SonarCloud and SonarLint
  • Team-up with other designers in the UX team, as well as with product managers and developers
  • Participate in the specification effort by writing the interface behaviour requirements, building mockups and prototypes
  • Support the continuous improvement effort by spotting usability issues and commit to fix them with the development team
  • Set-up user research sessions, write testing scenarios, share conclusions
  • Challenge product decisions and be challenged on your designs

The skills you will demonstrate

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in designing digital products
  • Good technical culture and knowledge of interaction design fundamentals (CS or design master’s degree)
  • Strong interest in usability and system design over visual design
  • Proficiency in user research and usability testing
  • Mastering the craft of static mockups and dynamic prototypes
  • Open-minded and very positive can-do attitude
  • Comfortable with agile practices and principles
  • Lifelong learner, curious to explore new approaches

  • For technical roles only, qualified candidates will first be asked via email to take a technical assessment named Codility
  • For all roles, selected candidates will be invited to 30 min video session(s) with one or two members of the hiring team
  • Then, candidates will be invited to come to our offices for half a day or so, to complete a technical interview with the hiring team, followed by a meeting with the people & culture team
  • Finally, candidates will potentially be asked to schedule a 1h final interview with our CEO
