The SonarQube ecosystem is used everyday by thousands of developers around the globe to spot bugs and track their technical debt. This ecosystem is built around a platform and supports the analysis of more than 20 programming languages. A SaaS offering is being built with SonarCloud. The platform is written in TypeScript, Javascript and Java.

The Platform team, composed of front- and back-end developers, is looking for a talented Java back-end developer passionate about using technologies to create great products. By joining our team, you will be part of an autonomous team without a manager. You will choose what to work on.

THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE

On a daily basis, you will:

  • Develop new features for SonarQube and SonarCloud with the end user in mind, from technical design to delivery in production
  • Improve your team: perform technical review, challenge the status quo, improve processes, share your findings
  • Support Product Managers during the specification phase, with your input on what is being built
  • Support the Open-Source community, other SonarSourcers and the Support team and integrate their feedback
  • Discover with us how we can go from an on-premise to a SaaS solution with tens of thousands of users and much more to come

THE SKILLS YOU WILL DEMONSTRATE

  • Excellent engineering skills and good CS fundamentals
  • Developing in Java with clean code. Knowledge of Elasticsearch and SQL is a plus.
  • Fluency in source code quality: tests (unit and functional), CI/CD
  • Experience with agile practices and principles
  • Comfortable in dealing with change and complexity
  • Leadership: you take initiative and demonstrate your ability to lead a subject from beginning to end
  • Self-confident enough to challenge the status quo and be challenged

  • For technical roles only, qualified candidates will first be asked via email to take a technical assessment named Codility
  • For all roles, selected candidates will be invited to 30 min video session(s) with one or two members of the hiring team
  • Then, candidates will be invited to come to our offices for half a day or so, to complete a technical interview with the hiring team, followed by a meeting with the people & culture team
  • Finally, candidates will potentially be asked to schedule a 1h final interview with our CEO
