Today, Sonar is announcing bulk import support for Azure DevOps and Bitbucket in SonarQube Cloud. Administrators can now import every repository in an Azure DevOps or Bitbucket organization into SonarQube Cloud in a single action, matching the bulk import experience already available for GitHub and GitLab. With this release, SonarQube Cloud supports bulk import across all four DevOps platforms it integrates with: GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and Bitbucket.
Onboarding an organization's repositories one at a time, or in batches of up to 25, creates a real cost. For an organization with dozens or hundreds of repositories on Azure DevOps or Bitbucket, that repetition adds up to hours of administrative work before analysis runs on a single line of code, and every hour spent importing is an hour that code sits unverified. This release removes that bottleneck. From the Analyze projects page, an administrator of any SonarQube Cloud organization bound to an Azure DevOps or Bitbucket workspace now sees an "Import all repositories" button that brings the entire organization in at once.
Bulk import does not leave administrators guessing while it runs. A real-time progress indicator on the Analyze projects page shows the operation's status as SonarQube Cloud works through the repository list, replacing what used to be an opaque, all-or-nothing wait. When the import finishes, SonarQube Cloud generates a downloadable summary report showing exactly which repositories were imported, which were skipped, and which failed, so administrators get a clear, auditable record without cross-checking logs or reimporting to find out what happened.
No new permissions are required to use this feature. Administrators need the same Create Projects permission already required to import repositories individually, so anyone with existing import rights can use bulk import immediately.
This release matters beyond the time it saves. Verification only works if it covers the whole codebase, and a codebase spread across dozens of unimported repositories is a codebase with blind spots. By closing the last gap in platform coverage, SonarQube Cloud makes it possible for organizations on any of the four major DevOps platforms to get every repository under verification from day one, not after weeks of manual onboarding.
