Terms and Conditions for Alpha and Beta Add-Ons
These Terms govern Customer’s use of certain optional “alpha” or “beta” add-on products and services (“Preview Add-Ons”) offered by SonarSource. Access to the Preview Add-Ons is granted only to specific customers.
These Terms are incorporated into and form part of the relevant SonarQube Server Terms and Conditions, SonarQube Cloud Terms of Service, or other agreement between Customer and SonarSource covering Customer’s use of the Product or Service (“Agreement”). Capitalized terms not defined in these Terms have the meanings set forth in the relevant Agreement. To the extent any provisions in these Terms conflict with the Agreement, these Terms will prevail with respect to the Preview Add-Ons and their usage.
Terms and conditions specific to each Preview Add-On are set out in the Product-Specific Addendums to these Terms (attached below), and form an integral part of the Terms.
1. Use of the Preview Add-Ons
Subject to Customer’s compliance with the terms of the Agreement and these Terms, SonarSource grants Customer a limited, worldwide, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the applicable Preview Add-On for Customer’s internal software development purposes.
2. Intellectual Property and Confidentiality
2.1. Intellectual Property
SonarSource and its licensors exclusively own all rights, title, and interest in the Preview Add-Ons, including all associated Intellectual Property, except for the limited license granted in Section 1 of these Terms.
2.2 Confidentiality
Customer acknowledges that Preview Add-Ons, including their existence, features, functionalities, user interface, and documentation, are not available to the general public. As such, Preview Add-Ons and information about them constitute SonarSource’s Confidential Information, and Customer shall treat them in accordance with the confidentiality obligations set forth in the Agreement.
2.3. Feedback
SonarSource is hereby granted a royalty-free, fully-paid, worldwide, exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, irrevocable, and perpetual license to use or incorporate into its products and services any suggestions, enhancement requests, or other feedback provided by Customer.
3. Usage Limitations
SonarSource reserves the right to monitor and evaluate Customer’s usage of Preview Add-Ons. If SonarSource determines that the Customer’s usage of a Preview Add-On exceeds reasonable levels, it may implement rate limiting measures at its sole discretion and without liability. These measures may include suspending or terminating the Customer’s access to that Preview Add-On.
4. Disclaimers
Customer acknowledges that it is not required to use, access, test, or evaluate any Preview Add-On, and does so voluntarily, at its own discretion and risk. Preview Add-Ons are provided strictly “as is” and “as available,” without any express, implied, or statutory warranties, including, but not limited to, warranties of title, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. SonarSource has no obligation to provide bug fixes, patches, updates, or support for Preview Add-Ons, which may be incomplete, inoperable, or contain errors, and may include features that are never released.
Customer is solely responsible for (a) evaluating all output from a Preview Add-On before relying on or otherwise using it; and (b) complying with all applicable laws and regulations. NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY IN THE AGREEMENT OR THESE TERMS, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SONARSOURCE PROVIDES NO WARRANTY, INDEMNITY, SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT, OR SUPPORT FOR PREVIEW ADD-ONS, AND SONARSOURCE’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY PREVIEW ADD-ON IS LIMITED TO USD 250.
5. Modification of Terms
SonarSource reserves the right to modify these Terms at its sole discretion. Any such modifications will take effect upon posting on the SonarSource Legal Terms and Documentation webpage or upon notification to the Customer, whichever occurs first. It is the responsibility of the Customer to review these Terms periodically for any changes. Continued use of a Preview Add-On after such modifications constitute Customer's consent to such changes.
6. Personal Information
To the extent that any Preview Add-On permits or involves the processing of Customer Personal Data, SonarSource will process such Personal Data in accordance with the terms of the Agreement.
7. Term
7.1 Customer Acceptance
These Terms become effective and binding on the Customer on the earlier of: (i) opting-in within the Product or Service; or (ii) Customer’s or its users’ use of a Preview Add-On.
7.2 Termination and Cessation of Use
These Terms will apply until the first to occur of: (a) general availability of the Preview Add-On, typically as a paid version, at which point the terms for such generally available version will apply; (b) SonarSource’s decision to stop offering that Preview Add-On, which it may do at any time in its absolute discretion; (c) Customer ceasing to use that Preview Add-On; or (d) expiration or termination of the Agreement.
Termination of these Terms for a particular Preview Add-On will not affect any liability or obligations incurred by Customer (such as obligations related to Confidential Information), or waivers granted by Customer (such as the license in Section 2.3), prior to the effective date of such termination.

8.5.2. Customer Responsibilities. In addition to the responsibilities in Section 4 of these Terms, Customer is responsible for: (a) evaluating all Suggestions before relying on or otherwise using them; (b) ensuring that its use of any Suggestions does not infringe, violate, or misappropriate the intellectual property rights of any third party; and (c) complying with all laws and regulations governing the use of AI Technologies.
