A quick and simple update to the latest LTA of SonarQube ensures you maximize the reliability and security of your codebase at no additional cost. By updating you keep up with the Agent Centric Development Cycle (AC/DC) with SonarQube's new agentic stack: Sonar Vortex, SonarQube Remediation Agent, and SonarQube Hunter Agent. The release also includes new languages, code quality updates, code security updates, and critical fixes, while also optimizing the user experience.
What’s new in the 2026.5 LTA
Sonar broadens SonarQube's agentic AI code verification, fully inside the infrastructure you manage.
The agentic stack in SonarQube:
- Sonar Vortex works inside the agent's loop. Before your agent writes a line, it guides and constrains the agent with your project's rules, architecture, and dependency policies, then verifies every change in seconds. Your agent understands your codebase and creates better results for fewer tokens.
- SonarQube Remediation Agent delivers code repair you can trust. It autonomously generates fixes for the issues in your tech debt backlog and proves each fix correct before opening a pull request.
- SonarQube Hunter Agent hunts the flaws pattern-based scanners were never built to catch: broken access control, business logic, and authentication gaps. It surfaces confirmed findings as SonarQube issues.
Plus there's much more. The result is a single platform where AI-assisted development, verification you can explain and repeat, and enterprise AI governance operate as one system, powered by SonarQube.
