Description
SonarSource has developed its own Cobol parser and packaged it in a Sonar Cobol analyzer. It allows to perform objective and automated Cobol code quality and standards reviews against pre-defined rule sets and coding best practices. It also generates standard code metrics like number of lines or density of comments.
The Sonar Cobol Plugin is capable of analyzing Cobol code, but also SQL and CICS statements, COPY statements as well as its REPLACING clauses and REPLACE statements. The rules engine can be extended to define customized coding rules. By using the Sonar Cobol plugin , you will get full Sonar capability in terms of reporting, including :
