Looking Back at 2013 SonarQube Ecosystem Accomplishments

A new year provides a good opportunity to look back at what was achieved the previous year. Read this post to catch up with what was done in 2013: incremental analysis, the C/C++ plugin, the IntelliJ plugin, the merger of the closely related concepts of Violations and Reviews into Issues, and many more.

SonarQube 4.0

SonarQube 4.0 is now available for download. The new features include:

  • Technical debt computation in SonarQube Core
  • Support of incremental analysis
  • Project provisioning

Plugin Releases

  • Eclipse: Support of incremental analysis. Read more
  • Views: Support view of views. Read more
  • Java: All valuable coding rules from PMD and Checkstyle were rewritten with our own technology. PMD and Checkstyle were removed from the ecosystem, and are now optional plugins. Read more
  • COBOL: Add support of HP Tandem. Read more
  • C/C++: Support all kinds of syntaxes/ambiguities. Read more
  • Flex: All valuable coding rules from FlexPMD were rewritten with our own technology. The plugin no longer relies on FlexPMD. Read more
