Seminar : Agile Development and Technical Debt

SonarSource is organizing, on the 24th of January in partnership with Inspearit, a seminar around agility and technical debt. SQALE 1.4 Released

The SonarSource’s SQALE product is a full implementation of the SQALE (Software Quality Assessment based on Lifecycle Expectations) methodology developed by Inspearit (formerly DNV ITGS). This method contains both a Quality Model and an Analysis Model. The SQALE Quality Model conforms to ISO/IEC 9126 with its underlying structured set of characteristics and sub-characteristics.

This new 1.4 version comes with two new widgets :

  • The first widget allows to quickly determine the effort required to decrease the risk associated to an application by removing all violations above a severity level sqale-widget-risk
  • The second widget displays the hotspot of files with the worst remediation cost sqale-widget-hotspots

Cobol 1.7.1 released

Autocontrol for Cobol 2.1 released

SonarSource Autocontrol is a product intended for the developer, enabling to perform a local « pre-commit » quality analysis on his programs, in order to monitor the quality standards then remediate defects, before pushing back the work into SCM.

Accessible from any Development Environment, Autocontrol generates on-demand a report providing data about volume and type (critical, major, minor) of rule violations that have been newly detected in the developer’s code. This differential report is based on the last reference analysis available on the Sonar platform server.

Cobol 1.7 released

The SonarSource’s Cobol product is a language extension to the Sonar platform, that enables code quality analysis (rules & metrics) on Cobol programs (IBM, Microfocus, Acucobol, GCOS, etc.).

This new version comes with numerous improvements on the parser (16), fixed issues (16) and new features. Find listed below the highlights of the Cobol 1.7 release :

  • Addition of violation filter for copybooks
  • Support of Microfocus XML extension
  • Improvement of the exclusion pattern mechanism
